Khanum Thampi,
Founder & Head of School
Mrs. Khanum, Founder and Head of School, has led MYIS with a commitment to excellence for 30 years. With a Master’s in Education from Pacific Oaks University, she has drawn inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, which shapes the school’s philosophy today. A passionate advocate for children’s rights, she believes deeply in respecting every child’s potential and learning from their play and curiosity.
Tahireh Thampi,
Associate Head of School
With over 14 years of experience in education, Ms. Tahireh began as an Early Years teacher in Thailand before stepping into leadership as MYIS’s PYP Coordinator in 2019. She holds degrees from the University of Melbourne and Clemson University, and in 2024 completed the Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard. She is dedicated to fostering a caring, collaborative community where students, teachers, and families thrive together.
Caty Romero,
Director of Teaching & Learning, IB Coordinator
Caty is an instructional leader specializing in curriculum, teaching, and assessment. She holds a Master’s in Education from Framingham University and a Math Specialist Certification from the U.S. State Department Office of Overseas Schools. Passionate about inquiry-based learning, she partners with teachers to shape meaningful curriculum and also consults internationally as a mathematics specialist.
Rahul Thampi,
Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, Rahul Thampi has guided MYIS for over 20 years with expertise in education, technology, and school management. With degrees from the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, he has led key initiatives including IB accreditation and major campus expansions. Known for his thoughtful, solutions-driven approach, Rahul ensures MYIS runs smoothly and remains a safe, well-resourced place for learning to thrive.
Orasa Kanjanachoosak,
International School Manager
Since 2006, Ms. Orasa has served as School Manager at MYIS, bringing her MBA training from Chulalongkorn University and strong background in finance and operations. She has strengthened school systems to be efficient and effective, while also bringing warmth to the community—often seen connecting with children in the classrooms she so passionately supports.
