On Thursday November 7, our whole school community came together and celebrated Loy Krathong.
The day started with a well-attended assembly held in the school gym, packed to capacity. It was an amazing performance mixed with music, song, traditional Thai dance and demonstration of traditional Thai games performed by the students, from the youngest one to the oldest.
The wonderful performance at the assembly was followed by traditional games, Krathong making and floating in the pool. The celebration was concluded with a shared lunch provided by the parent community at the cafeteria.
A day full of joy & community! And beautiful flowers of course!
Loy Krathong, this beautiful Thai tradition, is held annually all over the country. People gather around the rivers, lakes, or canals to pay respect to the water goddess and make wishes for the coming years by Loy releasing the Krathong a banana trunk decorated with banana leaves, flowers and candles.
