Grade 7 Math π & Stained Glass Project

Grade 7 students have been exploring π and measurements of circles. They applied their knowledge to a stained glass activity, decomposing shapes in order to calculate amounts needed for each color of glass. They then took to graph paper to design their own stained glass creation. This activity took calculation and logical reasoning through the lens of design, with an added element of calculating cost for glass, giving the students a real world application of π, circumference, and radius.
