MYIS Middle School Opening in August 2022!
MYIS International School has been working hard towards opening Grade 6 in August 2022 and are excited that this goal is now a reality. During this time, planning has focused on staffing and hiring, curriculum development, facility expansion, marketing and admissions. All taking place with the ultimate goal of becoming an IB Middle Years Program candidate school in 2023. With expert guidance from our IB World School Manager MYIS has planned for our inaugural Middle School class.
MYIS Middle School will provide learners with a holistic, academically rigorous program that builds on the foundations laid in our Primary Years Program and will prepare our students for a successful future in the IB Diploma Program in Grades 11 and 12. A Rich History
Beginning five years ago with the opening of our new campus in Pakkret, Nonthaburi, MYIS International School has set out on a path of growth. Across its 30-year history, the school has slowly evolved from a small nursery school into the province’s first IB PYP program for students from 1 to 11 years old. Throughout this time, we have remained uncompromised in our commitment to offering a nurturing learning environment with small class sizes and a strong community of caring and collaborative teachers and parents.
MYIS is now preparing for the next phase in our evolution by expanding our campus and introducing our Middle School program, beginning with Grade 6 in the 2022-23 academic year. As a school that has placed great emphasis on honoring who we are and where we have come from, we are committed to ensuring that our mission, vision and values do not get lost in the development of our new program. Our vision statement for the Middle School is built on the solid foundation that our Early Years and Primary Years programs provide.
Our New Facilities
A significant focus of our growth into the Middle School centers on the resources and facilities that we have available. Construction is underway for additional classrooms and extra-curricular facilities for all students from the Early Years through to Middle School. This expansion will almost double the size of our campus, providing more outdoor learning spaces, recreational and sports areas, and a large new Arts building slated for completion during the 2022-23 school year. The building will house performing arts facilities such as a black box theatre, a STEAM lab, visual arts studio, multi-purpose space, a 25-meter swimming pool and additional learning areas.
