“While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”
Students as Learners
The learning environment offered to our young children is challenging, relevant, differentiated, and collaborative. It builds trust and positive relationships. Through it children derive joy and become responsible for taking ownership of their learning. Students are viewed as active participants in their learning journey and are encouraged to develop their talents and potentialities.
Teachers as Learners
Our teachers discover developmentally-appropriate ways to promote inquiry, creativity and reflection in the classroom. They research and experiment with strategies to encourage active participation and critical thinking. They meet, discuss and question how they can challenge and provoke their children to scale new heights of learning. Our teachers’ motivation to learn, to improve their practice and to inspire excellence is a key element of the success of the students at MYIS International School.
Community of Learners
From students to teachers to parents, every stakeholder at MYIS forms a community of learners who strive for excellence in all areas of life. Such a community is engaged in learning not only for their own development, but also to become change agents in an ever-changing world. A culture of learning – an embedded characteristic of the school community – is one that transforms our lives and ways of thinking and being.
